Gadhada II-54: Satsang Is the Greatest Spiritual Endeavor; A ‘Gokhar’; Profound Attachment
Nirupan
Gunātitānand Swāmi said, “God is not pleased as much by other endeavors as he is by Satsang. Satsang is the extent of one’s goodwill towards God and the Sant. To attain it is rare.”
ગુણાતીતાનંદ સ્વામી કહે, “સત્સંગે કરીને ભગવાન વશ થાય તેવા બીજા કોઈ સાધને થાતા નથી. તે સત્સંગનો અર્થ એ છે જે, ભગવાન ને સંત તેને વિષે જેટલો સદ્ભાવ તેટલો સત્સંગ છે, તે થવો દુર્લભ છે.”
Nirupan
Gunātitānand Swāmi said, “Where there is the great Sadhu, moral codes are observed, dharma is practiced and spiritual wisdom is attained. Also, where there is the Sadhu there are infinite virtues, and also God. As a result, the jiva becomes divine. In the Vachanāmrut, it is noted that God has said, ‘I am not as pleased by austerities, renunciation, yoga, observance of vows, donations or other endeavors as I am by the association of a Sadhu of complete inner purity.’ Having attained this satsang, the merits are limitless. Ajāmil was a grave sinner, but he met Sanakādik, bowed to them and said, ‘I will not be able to do anything.’ But sadhus are compassionate, so they named his son Nārāyan, and in this way he attained moksha.”
ગુણાતીતાનંદ સ્વામી કહે, “સંત છે ત્યાં નિયમ છે, ધર્મ છે, જ્ઞાન છે. ને સંત છે ત્યાં અનંત ગુણ છે અને ભગવાન પણ ત્યાં જ છે ને તેથી જીવ પવિત્ર થાય છે. તે ‘વચનામૃત’માં કહ્યું છે કે, તપ, ત્યાગ, યોગ, વ્રત, દાન એ આદિક સાધને કરીને ભગવાન કહે, તેવો હું વશ થાતો નથી જેવો શુદ્ધ અંતઃકરણવાળા સાધુને સંગે કરીને રાજી થાઉં છું. ને આ સત્સંગ મળ્યો છે તેના પુણ્યનો પારાવાર નથી. અજામેળ મહા પાપી હતો પણ તેને સનકાદિક મળ્યા ને પગે લાગ્યો ને કહે કે મારાથી તો કાંઈ થાય નહીં. ત્યારે સાધુ તો દયાળુ છે તે છોકરાનું નામ ‘નારાયણ’ પડાવીને પણ મોક્ષ કર્યો.”
